Best of που πρέπει να έχουμε στη συλλογή μας
Στην εποχή των ψηφιακών μέσων και του streaming, για την μεγάλη πλειοψηφία των casual μουσικόφιλων δεν υπάρχει άγχος ως προς την έκταση της μουσικής συλλογής τους. Με ένα κλικ, είτε δωρεάν είτε με μια μικρή συνδρομή, έχουν πρόσβαση σε ολόκληρη τη δισκογραφία αγαπημένων καλλιτεχνών τους ή των πιο hot επιτυχιών.
Υπάρχουν βέβαια και οι ρομαντικοί (ή γραφικοί για κάποιους) σαν και εμένα, οι οποίοι δε θεώρησαν ποτέ τα δεδομένα ιδιοκτησία τους, γιατί πιστεύουν πως τους ανήκει πραγματικά ό,τι βλέπουν και πιάνουν με τα χέρια τους. Γι’ αυτή την κατηγορία, η βόλτα στα δισκάδικα έχει αξία ανεκτίμητη και είναι άρρηκτα συνδεμένη με αναμνήσεις.
Δυστυχώς για εμένα που ζω σε μια πόλη όπου όλα τα σχεδόν δισκοπωλεία έχουν κλείσει εδώ και χρόνια, ήταν επιτακτική ανάγκη να προσαρμοστώ στα δεδομένα της εποχής. Όμως, παρόλο που γνώρισα από νωρίς τα Mp3s και κατέληξα να έχω λογαριασμό σε Spotify, Apple και Amazon, δε σταμάτησα ποτέ να αγοράζω CD. Απλά πλέον δε μπορώ να κοιτάζω την προθήκη ενός δισκοπωλείου, περιορίζομαι στην οθόνη του υπολογιστή μου και παραγγέλνω online.
Όμως, από το 1995 που αγόρασα το πρώτο μου CD αντιμετωπίζω διαρκώς 2 μεγάλα προβλήματα,: Η μουσική δεν τελειώνει ποτέ και τα λεφτά δεν είναι ποτέ αρκετά. Όσα λεφτά και αν δαπάνησα, η συλλογή μου εξακολουθεί να είναι πενιχρή. Και όσες φιλότιμες προσπάθειες και αν κατέβαλα για να ολοκληρώσω τη δισκογραφία κάποιων αγαπημένων καλλιτεχνών, δεν τα έχω καταφέρει. Υπάρχουν πολλοί καλλιτέχνες που θα ήθελα να έχω ένα δείγμα δουλειάς τους, γιατί θεωρούνται κλασικοί ή επιδραστικοί, αλλά δεν το έχω αποκτήσει.
Κάπως έτσι, άρχισα να καταφεύγω στις συλλογές. Αντλώντας στοιχεία από “Τα albums του αιώνα” του κ. Πετρίδη και του κ. Ζουγρή (υπήρξε ευαγγέλιο για εμένα όταν το αγόρασα με την κυκλοφορία του) και σε συνδυασμό με τα 500 καλύτερα albums του Rolling Stone και το βιβλίο “1001 Albums you must hear before you die”, έφτιαξα σταδιακά μια λίστα με καλλιτέχνες που ξεχωρίζουν σε αυτές τις εκδόσεις, καθώς μεσουράνησαν από τη δεκαετία του ‘50 μέχρι σήμερα, ενώ προσέθεσα και κάποιους κινηματογραφικούς και κλασικούς συνθέτες που θεωρώ επιτακτική ανάγκη να υπάρχουν στη συλλογή μου. Τους αντιστοίχισα με τα best of που κυκλοφορούν κατά κόρον στο εμπόριο και δημιουργήθηκε ένας σύντομος οδηγός, ιδανικός για κάποιον που θα ξεκινούσε σήμερα τη συλλογή του και ήθελε να έχει έστω μια μικρή ιδέα από τον κατάλογο του κάθε καλλιτέχνη. Το σίγουρο είναι πως έχω πολύ δρόμο μπροστά μου αλλά τουλάχιστον ελπίζω πως στο μέλλον δε θα γίνουν τα πάντα ψηφιακά...
Υπάρχουν καλλιτέχνες που δε συμπεριλήφθηκαν στη λίστα είτε γιατί αποφάσισα να σταματήσω στους 400 είτε γιατί σε κάποιους δεν υπάρχει ούτε ανεπίσημη συλλογή με τα καλύτερα τραγούδια τους. Για να είμαι απόλυτα ειλικρινής, η λίστα φτιάχτηκε με γνώμονα κυρίως τις κυκλοφορίες CDs, αν και σε αρκετά υπάρχει ταύτιση με το βινύλιο είτε με ταυτόχρονες κυκλοφορίες είτε με μεταγενέστερες. Με το βινύλιο δεν κόλλησα ποτέ, γιατί δε μου μετέδωσε κάποιος το μικρόβιο. Πλέον, είμαι μεγάλος για να αλλάξω συνήθειες και πέραν τούτου, έχει μετατραπεί σε πολύ ακριβό χόμπι.
